What is Waves Summit?

You must know this important update in December 2024, Prime Minister Modi announced the launch of the World Audio Visual Entertainment (WAVES) Summit and called it an important step towards making India a global content creation hub.

Therefore, Waves 2025 is being organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to celebrate and enhance India's creative and media economy. Which will run from 5 to 9 February 2025.

The objective of this Waves Summit -

• To establish a dialogue between key players of the media and entertainment industry.
• To promote innovation and business partnerships through summits
• To discuss trends, challenges, and opportunities at the summit of Waves Summit, especially when new technologies are reshaping the sector

In this recently held Waves Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the Advisory Board of Waves Summit through a virtual conference. He said that India is not only becoming an economic power but is also playing a global leadership role in the cultural and technological sector.

The meeting was attended by leading industrialists, tech giants, film industry stars, and creative personalities from around the world. These included Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, AR Rahman, Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, AR Rahman and Deepika Padukone.

Preparation to boost India's economy -

Waves 2025 is being organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to boost India's creative and media economy. The conference will run till February 9. Under this, the ministry will also launch the 'Create in India Challenge, Season 1', which will include several challenges to encourage innovation and creativity. Earlier this summit was to be held in November along with the International Film Festival in Goa. On this occasion, industry leaders appreciated India's progress and expressed commitment to increase cooperation in the future.
